Don't Stop Me Now

Jesse St. James
21
Father.
I've been to hell and back alongside the love of my life and some close friends. But we made it and there's nothing life can throw at us to knock us down now. I'm the father of the most perfect baby boy who ever lived. I used to think that fame was everything, but Rachel and my son have completely surpassed that. That's not to say I won't make it big, because you better watch out. It's an inevitability.

Let the countdown begin!

inevitably-on-my-own:

I love you for it.

I vote that we should treat him to his first voice lessons. I have a couple of other ideas, but that’s the main one.

He’s one. If he’s not old enough to enjoy his first show yet, he’s not old enough to remember how to style his hair.

That might work. I did hear about a few good baby vocal coaches. We should start young. But should he show any resistance to performing, we won’t push him.

And this father/son time is crucial, Rachel.

Let the countdown begin!

inevitably-on-my-own:

You always have the best ideas in that regard.

You’re not going to try to teach him how to style it afterwards, are you?

I know. It’s a gift.

Speaking of gifts… what on earth do I get him?

What kind of dad would I be if I didn’t?

Let the countdown begin!

inevitably-on-my-own:

Good point, I’m just anxious - that’s all. We could always take him to the park. There’s that little playground he likes to go down the slide with a little help.

It’s curly, like yours.

Maybe we can get your dads to come to town to celebrate. And I think it might be fun to have a little home movie marathon and go through our best moments with him since he was born.

Still, he should at least get a little trim. It’ll look nice if done right.

Let the countdown begin!

inevitably-on-my-own:

I know, he’s growing way too fast! If only there were a way to slow things down.

That’s an excellent question! Something special, something memorable. It’s not too soon to take him to his first big show is it?

I think it still might be a little too soon. He wouldn’t like sitting still and would get fussy. We’d be that couple everyone hates for bringing their child along.

I think we should take him to get his first haircut before, though. It’s starting to get kind of long and it needs to look perfect for the day.

Let the countdown begin!

inevitably-on-my-own:

We have only twenty days left until Skylar St. James will be one year old! My how far we’ve come in a year. It’s exciting, and yet all too much at the same time. I can’t believe that it’s been almost a year already. I remember the night he was born as if it were just yesterday. I was scared, Jesse was scared - even if he doesn’t like to admit it, truth be told we never thought we’d really make it to this point. Yet here we are. Parents to a healthy almost one year old with a set of pipes that could match his mother and father’s, getting our careers back on track - at least trying!

I would say more, but I’d rather not give away anything that might be said on the big birthday speech so that’s a wrap!

✯Rachel Barbra Berry (soon to be St. James)

And he’s almost got walking down. Soon he’ll be doing it without holding on to our hands. He’s growing up too fast.

Anyway, what are we doing for his special day? We should start planning now if you haven’t already.
